Our heroes crash a toga party, in which there is wine and cake to be had. Jack partakes in a little interplanetary relations and ends up with the galactic clap. Teal'c and Daniel get down to studying Pelops' Dr. Moreau style meanderings and Sam practices her eyerolling on Jack. Jack slowly morphs into his grandpappy, dispelling the myth that a younger woman makes you feel young again, Daniel and Teal'c discover Goa'uld is actually Linear A...never to be referenced again, and Sam teams up with Janet to make the Colonel young..er, again. Jack changes his shuffleboard plans and decides livin' ain't all that bad.

Date: September 26th, 2009 07:50 am (UTC)Being new to the SG-1 fandom, I've been renting Season 1 DVDs from my local mom-and-pop video store, and I've just watched the episode "Brief Candle". Your icons and ep summary are perfect timing!
So what's the canonical explanation for how the Argosian society supports itself? Where were the laborers who plant & harvest the produce and the spinners & weavers of the sumptuous textiles and... OK I'll stop now. The 25th was my b-day and I spent it writing fanfic, LOL.

Date: September 26th, 2009 10:07 am (UTC)Re: Argosian industry and economics, ah... don't you know you're not supposed to think too hard about these things?!!??! :P There is no canonical explanation of course, maybe Pelops stole the Asgard tech for that thingie they used in New Order and Unending to create materials like food and clothing? That's the best I can come up with. :P

Date: October 1st, 2009 01:09 am (UTC)I really can't make any promises because I just don't know when my net will be back up (I am at below dial up speed currently and couldn't even load your images for the challenge!) If I can get back online and up to speed (my new ISP will be 15 times faster!) in time I will try to pop over there and enter what I can, I just really don't want to commit myself to something I might not be able to follow through with.

Date: October 1st, 2009 04:45 pm (UTC)I completely understand about only making promises you know you can keep -- and I respect that. If the cap won't even download that's a serious problem. We try to choose the highest quality images we can and they tend to be huge.
p.s. Yay for new ISPs! I hope the new one works better for you than the old -- I'll keep my fingers crossed for it.

Date: October 2nd, 2009 01:31 pm (UTC)It's one challenge per week? And the results of the voting for that week determined who is voted out? I'm lost! :P

Date: October 2nd, 2009 02:02 pm (UTC)The value for the maker is in the anonymous voting since it requires that voters state the reason for their votes. In the best of all possible worlds, it inspires makers to be experimental and improve their icon making skills.
